Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 2026

SafePlay is built by parents, for parents. We collect only what we need to do our job, we never sell your data, and we never read your child's harmless conversations. This page explains exactly what we do and don't do.

1. Who we are

SafePlay ("we," "us," or "our") is a child online safety service that monitors social gaming platforms for risk signals on behalf of parents and guardians. You can reach us at safeplayparenting@outlook.com.

2. What information we collect

We collect three categories of information:

Account information. When you join the waitlist or create an account, we collect your email address. When you set up monitoring, we collect the login information of your child's gaming account(s). We do not collect your child's name, age, or any other personal details unless you choose to provide them.

Monitoring data. To detect risk signals, our systems access the chat and interaction data via gaming platform APIs. We analyze this data automatically to identify behavioral patterns associated with grooming, solicitation, scams, and predatory behavior. We do not store raw chat logs. Flagged content is retained only long enough to generate an alert and is then deleted. Unflagged interactions are never stored.

Usage and attribution data. We collect standard web analytics data (pages visited, referral source, UTM parameters) to understand how people find us. This data is not linked to your child's gaming activity.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

We do not use your information for advertising. We do not build profiles on your child. We do not use your data to train third-party AI models.

4. How we protect your data

All data is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest. We do not store raw chat logs after analysis is complete. Access to personal data within our team is restricted on a need-to-know basis. We do not share personal data with third parties except as described in Section 5.

5. When we share information

We do not sell your personal information to anyone, ever. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

6. Children's privacy

SafePlay is a service for parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. The monitoring we perform is conducted on behalf of a parent or guardian who has authorized us to access their child's gaming account data. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child without parental consent, please contact us immediately at safeplayparenting@outlook.com.

Our service is designed to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable international equivalents.

7. Cookies and tracking

Our website uses cookies for session management and to remember attribution data (e.g., how you found us) for up to 30 days. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings without affecting your account.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. You may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing, or to receive a copy of your data in a portable format.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at safeplayparenting@outlook.com. We will respond within 30 days. We do not charge a fee for reasonable requests.

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Data retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes. Monitoring data that was not flagged is deleted immediately after analysis. Flagged content is deleted once the associated alert has been delivered and acknowledged.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last updated. Continued use of SafePlay after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
